We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
As members of the St Francis Xavier’s Catholic Primary School Arncliffe parent community, and having worked on the parent executive team, we believe the school recognises and values the role of parents and carers in the education of their children. The principal’s ‘open door’ policy enables a refreshed and relaxed approach to addressing any concerns or problems that a parent may have, whilst maintaining a professional and discreet approach to handling issues.
As a small school, we are a family-oriented school. The parent group plays a pivotal role in supporting the school in strengthening the partnership between family, school, and parish. We aim to provide a welcoming community, build community/school spirit, provide a parental perspective to the principal, and raise funds. The parent group is very active and strong and continues to be of great benefit to the development of learning for all students. This year we raised funds to refurbish the infants’ playground as well as directing funds for laptops for classroom use.
